According a new report coming from the Wall Street Journal, Apple is working on adding features such as USB 3.0, multiple ports for Mouse and Keyboard connectivity and faster charging to the rumored 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Rumors for Apple’s larger iPad haven’t exactly been making news, but this new report from WSJ re-ignites the fire.

Whether Apple is actually planning on releasing a larger iPad Pro is still unsure, but it is refreshing to hear a rumor/report such as this. Sources familiar with the iPad Pro’s design stated that Apple is planning on including extra ports and a faster charging technology.

A USB 3.0 port will be welcomed, as users could use the port to connect external hard drivers and other USB peripherals for maximum productivity. A keyboard and mouse port would also be welcomed, but Apple likes to keep ports to the minimum, so we’re not sure that there would be extra ports. Perhaps a keyboard/trackpad attachment would suffice.

Faster charging is something very much needed, as even the current 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 takes quite long to fully charge. A larger iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch display means even longer charge times and that’s where faster charging could be very useful.

We’re still not sure what the target audience for such a devices is. The iPad is currently leading in the tablet market, is it really necessary to introduce a larger iPad? The report states that Apple will be aiming the product at enterprise customers, which makes sense. With better productivity tools and features, an enterprise or power user will end up very satisfied.

The report also mentions that Apple suppliers were given orders to start mass production of the larger iPad Pro in the second half of this year, which means we’ll probably see it by fall 2015.

Still, this could all just be features that Apple worked on but may not include in the final product. What do you have to say about these rumors?
